  1. Thomas served in the Militia 2/35th Battalion, 14 Sept 1938 – 29 Jul 1941 and transferred to the A.I.F. on 16 Jul 1941 and posted to the Australian Army Service Corps, Gull Force on5 Aug 1941. He transferred to Australian Army Service Corps, Sparrow Force on 11 Aug 1941. He joined the unit on Timor as a Private from Australian Army Service Corps, Sparrow Force, after the fall of Koepang, approx. March 1942. After the campaign on Timor, he embarked with the unit, for Australia aboard the Royal Dutch destroyer “Tjerk Hiddes” on 11 Dec 1942. Thomas transferred to Headquarters, Royal Australian Engineers Training Centre on 8 Dec 1943 and then to Australian Docks Service Training Company on 15 Feb 1944. He then transferred to 2/3rd Australian Port Operating Company on 24 Feb 1944 and embarked for MOROTAI aboard “Charles M Russell” on 24 Mar 1945 and then embarked for BALIKPAPEN aboard “Wardell” on 26 Jun 1945. He was promoted Acting Corporal on 6 Dec 1945 and Corporal on 15 Feb 1946. He flew from BALIKPAPEN to MOROTAI on 23 Apr 1946 and returned to Australia aboard "DUNTROON" on 8 May 1946 and was discharged from the A.I.F. on 16 May 1946. He was entitled to the 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, Defence Medal, War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45, pictured below. He is now also entitled to the Australian Service Medal 1945-75 with a clasp "S.W.Pacific". With Service No 271074 he served in the Citizen Military Force (Reserves) with 2nd Infantry Battalion from 9 Jul 1948 to 13 Jul 1951 and again from 3 Feb 1953 to 30 Jun 1960. Later serving with 2nd Royal New South Wales Regiment from 1 Jul 1960 to at least Aug 1969, where he is listed as a Warrant officer Class 2 when he claimed a Clasp for his Efficiency Medal.
  2. Murvin (Spud) enlisted on 10 Sept 1942 and posted to 1st Australian Artillery Training Regiment on 22 Sept 1942, he transferred to 3/5th Australian Infantry Training Battalion on 10 Aug 1943. He embarked for New Guinea aboard "KATOOMBA” on 28 Nov 1943 as a Trooper and served in No 5 Section, “B” Troop and returned to Australia with them aboard “TAROONA” on 3 Sept 1944. After leave and reorganization, he embarked for New Britain aboard “TAROONA” on 9 Apr 1945 with the unit as a Trooper in No 5 Section, “B” Troop. He transferred to 53rd Port Craft Company on 26 Dec 1945, then 13th Small Ships Company on 21 Jan 1946 and then 44th Port Landing Company on 6 Feb 1946. He returned to Australia aboard "DUNTROON" on 9 May 1946 and was discharged on 14 Jun 1946. He was entitled to the 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45, pictured below. He is now also entitled to the Australian Service Medal 1945-75 with a clasp Murvin enlisted into the 9th Battalion, Morton Regiment, Citizen Military Forces in 1953, he attained the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2, was awarded a Long Service Good Conduct Medal and retired in 1970 with Honorary rank of Warrant Officer Class 1
  3. Leslie enlisted on 1 Aug 1940 and posted to 2/11th Field Company, Royal Australian Engineers (RAE) on 5 Feb 1941. He joined the unit on Timor as a Sapper from 2/11th Field Company, RAE, after the fall of Koepang, approx. March 1942. He was one of the former Koepang men, who moved to the village of Mape for intensive commando training and on 8 May 1942, they were formed into a new Platoon, “D” Platoon under the command of Lieutenant Turton and later under Lt Doig. Leslie was Killed in Action on 10 Dec 1942, whilst rear guard for the embarkation of “D” Platoon and hospital patients from Timor. He is buried at AMBON WAR CEMETERY, Plot 15. Row D. Grave 4. He was entitled to the 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45, pictured below.
  4. Charles enlisted on 5 Jan 1942 and posted to 26th Battalion on 17 May 1943. He transferred to 1st Australian Commando Training Battalion on 23 Feb 1943 and joined the 2/2nd on 15 May 1943. He embarked with the unit for New Guinea aboard “DUNTROON” on 17 Jun 1943 as a Trooper in No 7 Section, “C” Troop and was medevac'd to Australia with aboard 2/1st Australian Hospital Ship on 24 Aug 1944. After medical treatment he re-joined the 2/2nd on 15 Sept 1944 and embarked for New Britain aboard “TAROONA” on 9 Apr 1945 with the unit as a Trooper in No 7 Section, “C” Troop. He returned to Australia aboard "KATOOMBA" on 26 Oct 1945 and was discharged on 3 Nov 1945.     George MILLER

    George enlisted on 14 Oct 1941 and was a member of the First Reinforcements that arrive at Dili, Timor, aboard "KOOLAMA” on 22 Jan 1942, prior to the Japanese landing. He joined the unit as a Private. After the campaign on Timor, he embarked with the unit, for Australia aboard the Royal Dutch destroyer “Tjerk Hides” on 11 Dec 1942. He was promoted Acting Corporal on 3 Mar 1943, transferred to 1st Lines of Communication Provost Company on 7 Sept 1943 and Corporal confirmed on 3 Mar 1943. He was discharged on 13 Mar 1946.     Charles enlisted in the Citizens Military Forces (Reserves) on 30 May 1941 and posted to Australian Army Medical Corps Training Depot on 9 Jun 1941. He transferred to the A.I.F. on 6 Aug 1941 and was a member of the First Reinforcements that arrive at Dili, Timor, aboard "KOOLAMA”, on 22 Jan 1942, prior to the Japanese landing. He was Mentioned in Despatches, for Gallant and Distinguished Service, London Gazette, 25 May 1943 and in the Commonwealth of Australia Gazette, No 119-3 Jun 1943. He returned to Australia with them aboard “TAROONA” on 3 Sept 1944. After leave and reorganization, he embarked for New Britain aboard “TAROONA” on 9 Apr 1945 with the unit as a Trooper in No 4 Section, “B” Troop. March 1942. he served with No 6 Section, "B" Platoon. After the campaign on Timor, he embarked with the unit, for Australia aboard the Royal Dutch destroyer “Tjerk Hiddes” on 16 Dec 1942. He transferred to 2/12th Battalion on 25 Jun 1943 and embarked for New Guinea with them aboard “KATOOMBA” on 17 Aug 1943 and returned to Australia aboard “PAHUD” on 17 May 1944. He embarked for Morotai with 2/12th Battalion aboard "PORTUS H ROSE" on 28 May 1945 and again embarked for BALIKPAPAN aboard "LIDDLE" on 21 Jun 1945. He returned to Australia aboard HMS IMPLACABLE" on 28 Nov 1945 and was discharged on 11 Dec 1945. Maxwell was awarded an Efficiency Medal in 1946.     William enlisted on 9 Sept 1941, was posted to 2/40th Battalion and embarked for Timor aboard "KOOLAMA" on 17 Jan 1942. He joined the 2/2nd on Timor as a Private, from 2/40th Battalion, after the fall of Koepang, approx. March 1942. He was one of the former Koepang men, who moved to the village of Mape for intensive commando training and on 8 May 1942, was posted to one of the 2/2nd sections. After the campaign on Timor, he embarked with the unit, for Australia aboard the Royal Dutch destroyer “Tjerk Hiddes” on 16 Dec 1942. He was posted to 2/12th Battalion on 1 Jul 1943 and embarked for New Guinea aboard "CANBERRA" on 18 Dec 1943 and returned to Australia aboard "VAN DER BOSCH" on 24 May 1944. On 16 Sept 1945 he returned to Australia aboard "DUNTROON" on 7 Nov 1945 and was discharged on 20 Dec 1945.     Howard (Karl) enlisted on 16 Feb 1942 and after training was posted to 48th Infantry Battalion on 3 Apr 1942. He transferred to 108th Light Anti Aircraft Regiment on 27 Aug 1942, then to Foster for commando training on 22 Sept 1942. When the unit returned from Timor, he joined them at Larimar, Northern Territory on 25 Dec 1942. He embarked with the unit for New Guinea aboard S.S. “DUNTROON” on 17 Jun 1943 as a Trooper. Howard transferred to 2/6th Australian Field Company Engineers on 28 Dec 1943, then the 2/5th Australian Field Company Engineers on 17 Jan 1944 and returned to Australia with them aboard “TAROONA” on 4 Mar 1944. He embarked for MOROTAI aboard Landing Ship Troops No 721 on 23 May 1945, then embarked for BALAKIPAPAN, BORNEO aboard Landing Ship Troops No 397 on 7 Jul 1945. He transferred to 28th Australian Field Company Engineers on 12 Oct 1945 and embarked for MOROTAI on 7 Nov 1945 and returned to Australia on 23 Mar 1946. He was discharged on 29 Mar 1946. After leave and reorganization, he embarked for New Britain aboard “TAROONA” on 9 Apr 1945 with the unit as a Trooper in No 6 Section, “B” Troop. He transferred to 29/46th Battalion at Rabaul on 26 Dec 1945 and embarked for Australia aboard “HMAS Westralia” on 27 Apr 1946. He was discharged on 22 Jul 1946. He was a member of the First Reinforcements that arrive at Dili, Timor, aboard M.V. “Koolama”, on 22 Jan 1942, prior to the Japanese landing. He joined the unit as a Signaller and was part of the diversion group for the DILI Raid by No 4 Section on the night of 14/15 May 1942. He embarked at BETANO for Darwin as a Signaller aboard “KURU” on 2 Sept 1942. Neville was discharged on 9 Dec 1943. He reverted to Private at his own request on 1 Feb 1943 and embarked for New Guinea aboard "CANBERRA" on 2 Feb 1943. He joined the 2/2nd on 25 Jun 1943 and returned to Australia aboard "KATOOMBA" on 12 Apr 1944. He was discharged on 19 Dec 1945. He was confirmed Lance Bombardier on 3 Oct 1941, but at his own request, he reverted to Gunner on 23 Oct 1941. He returned to Australia aboard "WEST POINT" on 31 Mar 1942. Godfrey was confirmed Corporal on 30 Apr 1945. He returned to Australia aboard "SALAMAUA" on 18 Jan 1946 and was discharged on 27 Mar 1946.     Donald George MAY

    Donald enlisted in the Citizen Military Force (Reserve) on 7 Apr 1942 with Service No W40684. After numerous postings was appointed Lance Corporal on 1 Sept 1942, transferred to the A.I.F. on 15 Feb 1943 and promoted Acting Corporal on 25 Feb 1943 and confirmed Corporal on 30 Jun 1943. He joined the 2/2nd on 13 Apr 1945 and embarked for New Britain aboard “TAROONA” on 9 Apr 1945 with the unit as a Corporal Signaller. Reverted to Private at his own request on 14 May 1945, he was medevac'd by air on 16 Oct 1945 and was discharged on 4 Jun 1946. He was entitled to the Pacific Star, War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45, pictured below. Transferred to 2/16th Infantry Battalion on 6 Jul 1943 and embarked aboard “TAROONA” for New Guinea on 6 Aug 1943 and returned to Australia with them aboard “CANBERRA” 18 Feb 1944. After leave and reorganization, he embarked for MOROTAI aboard “GENERAL ANDERSON” with the 2/16th Battalion on 2 Jun 1945, then embarked for BALIKPAPAN aboard “MANOORA” on 12 Jun 1945. He transferred to 2/10th Infantry Battalion on 1 Dec 1945. Albert returned to Australia aboard "RANFORD VICTORY" on 10 Jan 1946 and was discharged on 25 Feb 1946. He was entitled to the 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45, pictured below. After the campaign on Timor, he embarked with the unit, for Australia aboard the Royal Dutch destroyer “Tjerk Hiddes” on 16 Dec 1942. After leave and reorganization, he embarked with the unit for New Guinea aboard S.S. “DUNTROON” on 17 Jun 1943 as a Trooper in No 6 Section, “B” Troop. He was appointed paid Lance Corporal on 1 Jul 1943 and returned to Australia with them aboard “TAROONA” on 3 Sept 1944. He was promoted Acting Corporal on 30 Jan 1945 and after further leave and reorganization, he embarked for New Britain aboard “TAROONA” on 9 Apr 1945 with the unit as Acting Corporal No 6 Section, “B” Platoon. His promotion to Corporal was confirmed on 30 Apr 1945, he transferred to 4th Heavy Battery on 29 Nov 1945 and returned to Australia aboard “KATOOMBA” on 16 Dec 1945. Thomas was discharged on 18 Jan 1946. He was entitled to the 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45, pictured below. He is now also entitled to the Australian Service Medal 1945-75 with a clasp "S.W.Pacific".
