  1. Hi Ed I've only just read this post. Sorry. Thanks for writing it. The links are fascinating, too. He was an amazing fellow. The 2/2 was very fortunate to have the benefit of his expertise and bravery. The amazing life story of Mad Mike Calvert would easily find its way to the big screen. The hard part would be getting the right balance between paying appropriate tribute to his role in the development of commando warfare, while acknowledging the difficulties he faced after the war. Thanks again Rob
  2. From time to time, stories are published that overlook the significant contribution of the men of the 2/2. One such story appeared in the newsletter Commando News. President of the 2/2 Commando Association, Peter Epps, recently sent a letter to the editor of the newsletter, seeking to set the record straight. Letter to editor of Commando News.pdf
  3. Colleen Thornton-Ward and her brother, Murray Thornton, both committee members of the association, are once again volunteering as international observers at the forthcoming Timor-Leste election on 12 May 2018. To see the story as published by the Eastern Reporter, please click here.
