Committee Rob Crossing Posted August 13, 2018 Committee Posted August 13, 2018 On a recent trip to Scotland, I was fortunate enough to visit Britain's Commando Memorial, near Fort William, in Lochaber. This inspirational monument looks towards Ben Nevis and over the training area for British commandos that was established in 1942. I was delighted to see that the memorial is a real tourist attraction. When we were there, the car-park was pretty full and there were several busloads of tourists as well. Lest we forget.
Committee Edward Willis Posted August 14, 2018 Committee Posted August 14, 2018 Hi Rob: I visited there quite a few years ago now and thought the attached booklet about the establishment of the memorial would be be of interest. Ed spean_bridge_50th_booklet.pdf
Committee Rob Crossing Posted August 14, 2018 Author Committee Posted August 14, 2018 Thanks, Ed. Very interesting. At some point, I think it would be good for us to put together a brief history of our memorial, including photos and snippets from Courier. Cheers Rob
