    Ronald enlisted at Perth, W.A. on 18 Dec 1940 and was selected to proceed to Wilsons Promontory for training with the unit. As the unit was preparing to leave Wilsons Promontory to proceed overseas, he became very ill with meningitis. He was admitted to 115 General Hospital at Heidelberg on 1 Sept 1941 and unfortunately passed away on 2 Sept 1941. He was buried FAWKNER MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY, Baptist Plot. Compt. C. Grave 286,.

    For his service, he was entitled to a War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45.
