    Philip (Gerry) was an original member of the unit, embarking aboard “S.S. ZEALANDIA” on 8 Dec 1941 for Timor as a Signaller in Signals Section, Headquarters Group.

    He was seriously Wounded in Action whilst attached to “C” Platoon in Mar 1942 and evacuated by seaplane on 24 May 1942. He was discharged after recovery in hospital on 14 Jul 1944.

    Philip was made a Life Member of the Association in 1972 and awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia on 26 Jan 1987.
