    Patrick was an original member of the unit, embarking aboard “S.S. ZEALANDIA” on 8 Dec 1941 for Timor as a Private in No 4 Section, “B” Platoon.

    Patrick was Killed in Action on 2 Mar 1942 in the same action as Henry Mitchell.

    He was a larger than life jovial character of the unit, as every one knew Paddy Knight.

    He enlisted under an assumed name, his real name was William Patrick Cotter.

    The blue plaque is in the National Memorial Arboretum in the UK.

    He was entitled to the 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45, pictured below.
