The only service papers released so far are for his CMF service. As he served post WW2 in the Australian Defence Force his papers may not be released for some time.
Arthur originally served with "F" Company, Swan Battalion, Volunteer Defence Corps, which was for men too young or too old for military Service. (Australia's Dads Army) He enlisted in the Citizens Military Forces (Reserves) with Service No W68700 on 22 Mar 1942 and served with 10th Light Horse.
He transferred to the A.I.F. on 9 Sept 1942 and we know he joined the 2/2nd at Strathpine, Qld, 1944.
He embarked for New Britain aboard “TAROONA” on 9 Apr 1945 with the unit as a Trooper in No 9 Sect, “C" Troop.
