Robert Drummond WORDIE

Robert enlisted on 24 Dec 1941 and was posted to 14th Infantry Battalion on 24 Mar 1942. He embarked for New Guinea aboard S.S. “DUNTROON” on 8 May 1943 and joined the unit on 8 Jul 1943 as a Trooper. He died of illness at Bena Bena Force Hospital, New Guinea on 30 Oct 1943 and is buried at Lae War Cemetery, Plot C, Row D, Grave 1.

He was entitled to the 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45, pictured below.
