    Dodd enlisted on 6 Jun 1940 and was posted to 2/11th Field Company, Royal Australian Engineers (RAE). He embarked for Timor on 8 Dec 1941 and joined the 2/2nd on Timor as a Private from 2/11 Field Company Engineers, after the fall of Koepang, in about March 1942. He was medevac'd from Betano for Australia on 7 Nov 1942 and after medical treatment he was discharged on 5 Mar 1945.

     

    He was entitled to the 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, Defence Medal, War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45, pictured below.
