    Vincent (Vince) was a member of the First Reinforcements that arrive at Dili, Timor, aboard M.V. “Koolama”, on 22 Jan 1942, prior to the Japanese landing. He joined the unit as a Signaller. After the campaign on Timor, he embarked with the unit, for Australia aboard the Royal Dutch destroyer “Tjerk Hides” on 11 Dec 1942.

    He transferred to 1st Australian Lines of Communication Provost Corps on 31 May 1943 and promoted Acting Corporal on 1 Jul 1943. Vince attended No 9 Land Headquarters Provost Training School from 13 Sept 1943 to 29 Nov 1943 and qualified. Rank of Corporal confirmed on 3 Mar 1944 and attended Land Headquarters School of Army Education Course No 9 from 8 Sept 1944 to 6 Oct 1944. He was appointed Lance Sergeant on 8 Feb 1945 and was discharged on 11 Mar 1946.

    He was entitled to the 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45, pictured below.
