Henry enlisted on 1 Apr 1941 and posted to Eastern Command, Australian Army Service Corps (AASC) Training Depot on 3 Apr 1941. He was appointed Acting Sergeant on 18 Dec 1941 and transferred to AASC, Sparrow on30 Dec 1941. He embarked for Timor on 17 Jan 1942 and joined the 2/2nd as a Sergeant on Timor, after the fall of Koepang, approx. March 1942. He was medevac'd to Australia on 17 Sept 1942 and transferred to General Duties Depot on 1 Apr 1943. He reverted to Private on 20 Jan 1943 and transferred to AASC Training Depot on m18 Apr 1943, then to 20th Australian Supply Depot on 29 Dec 1943.
He was discharged on 22 Jun 1944.
He was entitled to the 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45, pictured below.
