Eric John CHAPMAN

Eric enlisted on 10 Nov 1941 and after training at 1st Australian Commando Training Squadron, he joined the unit at Canungra, Qld, on 15 May 1943. He embarked with the unit as a Trooper in No 3 Section, “A” Troop for New Guinea aboard S.S. “DUNTROON” on 17 Jun 1943. On the 22 Apr 1944, he was Medevac to Australia, aboard "TAROONA" and did not return to the unit. He was discharged on 22 Jan 1945.

He was entitled to the 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, War Medal and Australian Service Medal 1939-45, pictured below.
